The Affordable Care Act 10 Years After

Abstract

An Introductory Note to this Special Feature Issue from James Unland,
Publisher and Editor, Journal of Health Care Finance

As we began the year 2021 at this significant time in the history of U.S. health care, our Journal sought out and is now honored to publish some "looking back and looking forward" thoughts of numerous educators affiliated with the global Association of University Programs in Health Administration. We sought educators’ candid perspectives in two areas:

(1) The Affordable Care Act 10 Years After: what worked, what didn’t work, what challenges remain?
(2) Healthcare Policy Priorities for the Biden Administration: what new policies and/or program initiatives should be undertaken? What existing policies and/or programs should be changed and, if so, how?

Many thanks to Daniel Gentry, President and CEO of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), and Professor Dean Smith of the LSU School of Public Health for making these "open source" Special Features possible.
